Alexis Boozer Sterling can currently be seen on Emma Approved, the follow-up series to Emmy-winning The Lizzie Bennet Diaries from Hank Green and Bernie Su.

 

She played Bryn Arbor on the hit series Leap Year, guest starring Eliza Dusku, Emma Caulfield, Joshua Malina, Steven Weber, Craig Bierko and Julie Warner. She was nominated for an IAWTV Best Actress award for her work on the show in 2011. In 2012, Leap Year took home IAWTV's Best Drama Series award.

 

She has appeared in several national commercials and the independent feature films Life Noir, The Confessional, No Greater Love, and Being Awesome (Audience Award at the 2014 Oxford Film Festival). She won the Best Overall Actress award at the 2012 Google+ Film Festival for her work in the short film Donor.

 

Alexis holds a BA in Drama from Stanford University where she won the Evelyn M. Draper Prize for performance. In her four years at Stanford she appeared in over 30 theatre and film productions, including: The Blue Room, Killer Joe (Sharla), Tape (Amy) and Dutchman (Lula). As a founding member of Mad Th8r, she performed in Death and the Maiden (Paulina) and No Exit (Estelle) in London and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

 

San Francisco theatre credits include: Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and No Exit and Hamlet with the highly-praised SF company, No Nude Men. She has additional training from The Alabama Shakespeare Festival, ACT, San Francisco Acting Academy.

 

LA theatre credits: Blame of Love (world premiere), Spike Heels, Burn This, All My Sons. In Los Angeles she studied with Meisner-trained John Desiderio and is a company member with the Ruskin Group Theatre.

 

In addition to her acting work, Alexis now develops and produces digital projects with her company Gossypium Media. She also made her film directing debut alongside her dear friend and cinematographer, Kalilah Robinson, with the short 3:38.

 

In 2014, she married actor Maury Sterling. They live in Los Angeles with their two dogs, Jackson and Hazel.
